The Artist

Matías Díez Ochoa develops a sculptural practice centred on structure, balance and matter. Working with wood and metal, he constructs pieces with a distinctive language, in which assembly, proportion and the tension between elements determine the final form.

His work includes wall-based pieces, tabletop works and objects with a more functional dimension, always guided by rigorous attention to construction and to the individual character of each piece. In this continuity between sculpture, design and invention, his work avoids the merely decorative and asserts a precise, restrained and recognisable presence.

Lives and works in Tudela, Spain. His practice has received recognition within the field of design and has been featured in specialist publications internationally. He develops original works and sculptural commissions for private collections, residential spaces, interior design projects and architectural contexts.
